(Kind of short… and isn’t exactly the prompt)

“Wait— you know Dennis?” I asked, shocked.

“Mhm, we go to the same high school.” Kimberly nodded. “Dennis!” She called, and he walked over to the picnic table.

Dennis and I used to be good school friends. But, then I started homeschool and we drifted apart.

Me and Kimberly got a summer job together as lifeguards, and we’ve been having lunch at the picnic table just outside the pool. I had noticed Dennis was throwing the frisbee with some friends, and then Kimberly mentioned she knew him from school.

“Hey Kimberly!” he said, sitting down next to her. He looked at me— no, _stared _at me hard for about a minute.

I smiled a little bit, “Hey…”

His eyes widened, he remembered me.

“Juli?” he blinked, “Oh my gosh— Juli! Remember me?” He smiled back.

I remembered him. I remembered sitting next to him on the school bus… eating lunch together. I even remember the stories we’d write, and the movies we’d make together. “Yeah,” I said, “I remember you.”
