POEM STARTER
Inspired by Silver_Fox
If your hand could reach inside my heart, what would you do with it?
Write a poem with this as the opening line
If You Had My Heart
If your hand could reach inside my heart, what would you do w/ it?
Would you hold it close to you, fill it w/ warmth, & never let it go?
Would you give it back to me, cold as ice, & hope that w/ every inch of my freezing body that I could warm myself back up?
Would you love & cherish it like no one before & hold me til I’m dead & gone?
Would you lie to me?
Lie to protect me, claim you love me
But lie to me nonetheless?
Would you hide me from the truth?
Shelter me inside a barrier
Confine me under a rock?
& if I came out to you?
Would you suffocate me in a blanket, in a car; lock me up in a closet
Or would you love me for who I am?
If you had my heart,
& I loved you w/ every ounce of my body
What would you do w/ it?
