To Good To Be True
“Ride, faster!!!” I yell to my horse. It’s been four days that we have been stranded out in the middle of no where, no phones, no people, nothing. I checked my backpack for food but the only thing I saw was a measly granola bar and an old baby carrot, I decided to give my horse her last carrot just so that we could make it to the promised land. Cloppy, clopity, clop, my horses shoes pound against the dirt and rocks, suddenly everything goes quiet, my horse moves her ears as if she hear something in the distance, I listen closer, “I HEAR WATER!!!”, “we made it girl!” I exclaim, we ran through the woods and found ourselves face to face with a dream, the clear water showering down from a large mountain of rocks, the trees were swaying with the wind and the birds were happily chirping, it all seemed too beautiful, almost too perfect. I gasp and lean up and I’m not by the waterfall anymore, I’m in a white room, it’s completely empty except for one chairs and a monitor...was I- I in the hospital? “How did i get here?” I whisper to myself, nurses and doctors bust into my room, they had needles and clip boards, “you’ve been asleep for 2 days Ms. Harris”, that’s not right....something is wrong here.....
