Whispers on the Wind
Write a poem or short story that could have this as the title.
The Penny Thieves
A man and his hare
Two of a pair
Would ride round’ the world western
Sunsets and sunrise
One horse and one guy
Became the plight of wealthy investors
They would kick up some dust
Leave in a rush
Tossing trails
In pennys a plenty
Well, they stole so much
They would open a hole
Cause the steed was getting older
And the bag was too heavy
Now,
The levy is this,
The kicker is that
The tale couldn’t last forever
Because the duo of legend
After many a peril
Would uncover the final endevour
But before that I must say,
It wasn’t always this
Maybe, it was just started in adventure
A young man and his horse
New nothing better
And had to take up the venture
For the man was abandoned
At an unfortunate age
And his family
Left him a mare
So, before they were threatened
By bandits and ghouls
They decided to scare
Or be scared
So they hit em where it hurts
And left the pain in the dirt
Replaced it with money
And yeah, it went too far
But the penny trail thieves
A family before team
Knew nothing else
And to them, it was the dream.
But alas, it is over,
The trial marked an X
The young man was caught
And they screamed for his neck.
But the horse
He could sense this sencelessness
Since he could scent
Where the cent man was sent
But he was held in captivity
And could do no such activity
To help the only man with a proclivity
To his family
But to much to his suprise,
The man surmised one last guise
He said he would lead the village
To the sum of his last heist
So his horse and him rode again, but
This time watched from front to back
Led the village to their base
And watched as they would all react
Because where they expected riches
They found a giant hole
And had the realization that this
Is where the spoils
All the the gold
Silver
Copper
Bronze
Would all turn old.
So the village asked the man and horse
Why they cared so much to steal
And the man and horse
Replied
“Because this story isn’t real”

Because the wind is also silly
And even can hear laughs
In the bellowed smoke of chimneys
