WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a multi-POV story from the perspective of three different people across the globe looking at the same thing.
What could they all be looking at and how might they percieve it differently?
The Book
Ashton-
Ashton sends one glance around the library then scoffs. He had much better things to do than hang out with his sister at this dusty old place. He doesn’t even like to read!
“Ashton! Go check out the graphic novel section if you’re bored!” His sister calls to him before getting shushed at by the librarian. She covers her mouth from a laugh and starts to walk into the bookshelves. Ashton just sighs. Graphic novels, huh? He guesses he’ll check them out to pass the time.
Once Ashton gets to the graphic novel section, he spots a book that catches his eye. A purple book. A locked book. And maybe he was just hallucinating, but was it glowing? Cool…
Eveline-
Eveline walks into the basement of her house. She felt like reading, which is pretty normal for her and her siblings to want to do. After all, their mom is a writer herself. Eveline hopes to be a writer one day, to share her many stories… Oh the joys… But for now, she’ll just read.
The basement is filled to the brim with books, most of them memorized by Eveline. There seems to be one book she doesn’t recognize though… It’s purple with a softish cover, large but not giant, and it’s sealed shut with a metal lock in the shape of a flower… Eveline let’s out a yelp as it starts to glow white. Eveline can’t help but be scared and cautious, but also a little curious. Why was it glowing, and how did it get in here?
Carter-
Carter sees a book laying on the ground of his room. Purple, locked, and not worth the trouble it seems to be promising. He throws it out the window. Brushing his hands together, he decides to pull out his phone. But just then, the book flings itself through the window, into the room, and right smack into the side of Carter’s head. He did NOT want to read that…
