STORY STARTER

The house at the end of the street has been boarded up for as long as your protagonist can remember. Today, they decide to explore.

Haunted

Two full months ago, my mum and I drove into the new neighborhood. We made enough memories until it felt somewhat like our new home. Everyday I always saw the haunted house hiding at the dead-end whenever I walked to school.

It’s a overgrown, abandoned, wooden house with planks that seemed to be falling apart and windows that are boarded with old rusty nails. Something tells me to sneak in but I never do. There’s got to be some sort of weird entity in there, but it makes me wonder how it looks inside.

I stare at the haunted house from across the street, my backpack strapped to my back.

What if I went inside?

I pull out my flashlight waving it around. As I expected, the haunted house was empty but the house still had some interesting furniture. The silence was eerie and felt a force wanting to jolt my back to where I walked in from.

The couch had a faded red flower pattern, and grass started to grow beneath the floortiles. It's an ecosystem that started to brew here after the owners abandoned it.

“Hummm…”

I turn to the sound, my flashlight flickering ominously as I suddenly can’t see the light from where I entered from. The only light is front the cracks in the boarded window.

I don’t make a sound.

“I shouldn’t of came here.”

I mumbled.

My heart beats faster and I think I might run out of breath. I don’t what's behind me or where I'm going but I can only tell I'm going deeper into the madness and it only scares me.

I think about the noise. What was that? There’s no electricity to this house. So maybe a bird? Or a raccoon? Or an entity. My intuition tells me. Which is great considering I’ve signed my fate. I thought to myself.
