“Lilly?” Micheal asked through the dark as they swung on the little swing set in the park.

“Yes?”

“Do you remember the first time we met?”

Lily slowed down her swinging to answer. “I was 8, you were 10. Boys in your class were messing with me because of my Dad being in prision. You told them to leave me alone and then offered my a dandelion.”

“Do you remember what you said afterwards.”

Lily blushed softly. “I said that I could handle it.”

“I have one more question.”

“I have one more answer.”

“What happened the day afterwards?”

“I was beaten on but sisters of the boys.”

“Yeah?”

“yeah, and this really cool guy and chased the girls away.”

“He sounds pretty amazing.”

“He was, but then he got a really dorky haircut.”

Micheal laughed out loud. “Ok. Well do you remember what I told you?”

“I thought u said that was the last question.”

“Just answer it.” He pleaded.

“You said that you’ll protect me from anyone else who tried to bother me.”

“Yes, I did. And I just wanted to let you know that I’ll never go back on those words.”

Even though they were in separate swings and weren’t even official yet they still reached out and held each others hand. It was an odd moment as they have never done anything like those before.

“Micheal?” Lily spoke through the night.

“Yes?”
