WRITING OBSTACLE
In another dimension, dinosaurs walk among humans, but they’re not at all like how the archeologists of our world predicted…
Write a descriptive scene about what dinosaurs are really like.
A Wild Dino Appears
‘A wild dinosaur appears.’
Yes, dinosaurs roamed the Earth with humans in Dimension C3.
Archaeologists predicted that dinosaurs were the ancestors of birds, but the ones that appeared on C3 were likened more to giant alligators. It was as if evolution preferred their legs shorter, almost like how hamsters and dogs with stubbier legs were being ‘naturally’ selected for evolution these days.
Due to the moon spinning further away from Earth over billions of years, it was like the sea took a Xanax and left the large land masses alone. The larger dinosaurs that once had most of their lower bodies submerged underwater now had no advantage. Because the sea level did not rise and fall drastically, their XXL-sized pillar legs, once attractive for keeping them stable against gigantic waves, slowly became a more pronounced liability in shallower waters.
‘Oh no! I was about to dip down and eat that tree’s leaves but my cousin with shorter legs got there faster and finished everything…’
‘Waouh! That male with shorter legs is so attractive…’
On the other foot, the smaller flightless land dinosaurs like the velociraptors still went extinct because a major asteriod impact led to volcanic eruptions, tsunamies, and climate changes. In fact, all of this caused a dramatic decline in the availability of food on the ground.
Even if the asteriod did not hit in Dimension C3, humans would have hunted raptors into extinction. It would have been just like how the native Austrailians wiped out all of the apex predators among the surviving megafauna. Those tail-shaking carnivores who underestimated the intelligence of humans did not live to tail the tale.
So now, when ‘a wild dinosaur appears’ on C3, it could be likened to ‘a wild alligator appears’ on the shores of Disneyland.
