Healing

When nightmares are all you’ve ever known, dreams can be a truly frightful thing.

When darkness has consumed your life for as long as you can remember, light can be a truly terrible sight.

When sorrow is all you’ve ever felt, joy can be a truly dreadful thing.

The concept of peace, real peace, can be far frighting than easing.

The idea of happiness can be scarier than depression.

These feelings are valid and real.

Raw emotions crafted within due to a fear of the unknown.

Because at least the darkness, the dread, the sorrow.

At least it is familiar, a battle one is accustomed to.

Therein exists this feeling, this undeserving feeling.

Such that one doesn’t deserve these positives in their life.

Such that they should and will continue their internal plight.

To continue the daily battle to fake a smile on all others behalf.

To continue waging their silent war against themselves.

To continue watching the good of the world passs them by.

This fate never needs to stay, to last.

These battles are real.

However, you do deserve happiness.

You do deserve peace.

You do deserve love.

While it is new, scary and feels like a risk of being hurt again.

The risk is worth clawing out of this hole.

Help is there for each of us.

Love is here for each of us.

Take the leap to find that joy.

You may just find it to be far better than dread.

You may find dreams better than nightmares.

You may find light better than darkness.
