POEM STARTER
Include the motif of clocks in a poem.
Clocks can be representative of time, life and death, and opportunities.
The Clock Ticks On
I swear I’m trying
Trying to stay strong
But the clock ticks on
And I’ve still got nothing
Nothing to show
And I’m dying
Dying to know
But the clock ticks on
And I still know nothing
Nothing at all
So tell me
Is it just me
Or are you in the same boat
Always moving
But staying in the same place?
Cause I swear I’m trying
Trying to stay strong
But the clock ticks on
It ticks on
And I’ve still got nothing
Nothing, nothing
To show
Note: a song rather than a poem, so like, sing it in your head? The tune I came up with reminds me of Lauren Spencer Smith, if you know her. If you don’t, I definitely recommend checking her music out.
