STORY STARTER

Submitted by Leah Grace

Those hazel eyes are soft; eyes that donโ€™t belong to a killer.

Write a short story that contains this line or centres around the idea.

Lying Eyes

This was a shorter one, practicing describing scenes and emotions. Enjoy!

Hues of gold shadow over us, this feels like a movie. Maybe thatโ€™s because my life has been playing out like one. Each day feels like a new scene, a captivating yet oddly confusing one. And not the type youโ€™d hope for.

Itโ€™s been two days since she told me to pack my bags and say my goodbyes. Two days since my life changed. _Our lives changed_.

She was being charged. For a murder. And we fled. We had to.

We find ourselves on the sand, waves lapsing over eachother with every passing minute. We stare into the endless sky, tints of bright orange and pink painting it a remarkable sight.

We are isolated from the world, from the people who seek us. She rests her delicate head on my shoulder. Sighing as the warm, evening breeze that belongs to the summer passes by.

Her hair is as golden as the sunlight that warms us. The wisps dance gracefully in the breeze, covering her eyes. _Her beautiful hazel eyes. _

She looks up at my face, her eyes enthralling me. _She is beautiful_.

She is the sunset that meets my eyes, she is the sun in my universe, she is the serene waves that flow into the shore.

The hazel eyes eyes that now gaze into my tired ones are soft; these eyes do not belong to a killer.

_But mine do. _

__

_And for some reason, the murder is her fault. And I just may know why. _

__

_I could never choose love over life. _

__

_And itโ€™s only a matter of time before they take hers. _
