Reading Is Fundamental

“What is this” Angie says as she holds her friend Shannon’s phone in her hands with ab unsteady grip. Shannon runs from the kitchen with still fully soapy hands from washing the dishes. “What are you…” before she can finish her thought Angie drops her Shannon’s phone on the couch that is directly in front of her. For her grip has now weakened and tears are forming in her eyes. “When is this hapening.” She says through her nose which is now clogging up. Shannon let’s out a sigh “I have to go tomorrow and I know it’s hard to think about but I will be back.” She attempts to go in for a hug but Angie refuses it. “Some friend you are” Angie wipes her tears runs to her room and grabs her suitcase to begin packing. Shannon follows along after her. “Angie what are you doing.” Angie says after a long pause “ if you’re gonna go off into the sunset with someone else that’s fine by me but I won’t be here when you get back I’m moving back in with my mom.” Shannon laughed at what was said because she realized what was happening. “I think you read that text wrong” she shakes her head as it’s facing down. “ I said that I was gonna go to off to Sunset with shawn tomrrow and I didn’t want to you to mad cuz I know how toxic he is.” Angie pauses, puts her sweater down and begins to laugh. “Oh you were talking abooue the restaurant, this is why reading is fundamental.” “But why didn’t you send it.” Shannon says “cuz I was texting it while you knocked out the door this morning, girl you know I would never leave you her by yourself because you’re not just my roommate. You’re my bestfriend.” Walks closer to her and puts out her arms “ Now come her and give me a hug Mrs.Crybaby.” Angie looks at her with a screwed up face. “Why Mrs.?” Shannon responds with “cus you married to the tears.” Angie follows with “you’re so corney…speaking of corney, Shawn though out of all people. Shannon says “ and that’s another reason why I didn’t send the message.
