Stranger.

Breathing. Something I was incapable of doing at the moment. There he was standing, hovering over the car. I was petrified not a single part of my body was capable of moving. Seeing him after the incident, five years ago. My heart dropped to my feet for the only things that I could possibly think about was the whereabouts of my family. Did he already get to them?

These where the heinous thoughts that invalidated every other thought in my head. Everything from his mask to his suit kept me enclosed in my car. As I slowly gripped my steering wheel and drove into him...

He pulled away as I drove into the garage door. There was my family all tied up in chairs. I quickly put my hand right back on the steering wheel to look up and see nobody outside. I hopped out the car to untie my family to hear them mumbling loudly. I take off the sock stuffed in there mouths to hear my wife scream “HES COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR!”

He walked slowly towards us with such confidence it left everyone uneasy. My hands trembling as I untied them all. They ran upstairs as I stayed behind to lock the door. Infuriated with myself as I remember that I left my keys in the car. There was no looking back. I told my wife to take the kids into the bathroom. That I was gonna fight a fight that was long overdue. I ran to the front door to make sure he didn’t get in yet. Scared for my families life, I knew I couldn’t let him get to them. I held my bat that stood as a decoration above the door. Suddenly I hear the door rattle open. He was here.

BOOM. I bashed my baseball into his stomach leaving him knocked on the floor. I knew my wife had called the police but I had to make sure the fight with him ended. I banged repeatedly at his body. Making sure he suffered as much as he once made. I ran to the bathroom and hugged my wife and kids because I knew that they had been scared. “I love you” I mumbled to my wife and children. “He’s gone now, he won’t ever come back to try to hurt you.” they replied with relief in their voices “I love you daddy”. The cops arrived and since that day I’ve learned to never let my guard down. At any minute a stranger could be watching you...
