POEM STARTER

Write a poem with the title “Overheard in the Library”.

As well-renowned places of quiet, any conversations had in libraries tend to carry!

Overhead In The Library

This might come off a little mean

But let’s discuss how well you clean

It’s not that bad as cleaning goes

It’s really just your stinking toes

The nails are long and sickly brown

And twist and curl themselves around

The dirt and gunk all in between

Has been there since last Halloween

I hesitate to even say

How much the smell ruins my day

So please next time we go outside

To the library, park or for bicycle rides

I’m begging you to simply choose

To wear a pair of close-toe shoes
