Peaceful Mountain Morning
It’s morning in the mountains
The sun peeks through the pine
After the quiet night
Where the moon and stars shine
When the hoot owls hoot
And the screech owls screech
So much quieter than
The ocean roar at the beach
The birds start chirping
But there’s no other sound
Other than the chipmunks
Running around
And the rush of the water
In the babbling brook
Plus the caws of the crow
And the big old rook
The wind through the trees
Makes a faint rustling
Then the squirrels begin
Their morning tussling
The woods in the mountain
Has its morning routine
In its own little way
It’s like the city bustling
The animals and the water
The wind through the trees
Are the happy sounds
Of the place I like to be
A peaceful mountain morning
Sounds happy and free
It’s a time and a place
That I love to be
