Safe Travels
I took the road less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.
Except I didn’t.
It is a lonely road, for miles, yes.
But many have walked it.
Many still are.
I took the road less traveled by, maybe a decade ago.
But now it’s full,
Filled with lost people with no where else to go.
I took-
No I was placed, not exactly gently either, on this path to weave my own way through the tangle of bodies
Forging my own way mostly,
But in the chaos,
I slip quietly into the foot prints of those before me and try to go on;
Sometimes others have left the path beaten down for those who come after,
Giving bittersweet rest through the twists of the unknown.
Others, betrothed with the sense of entitlement
Meant for those not on this particular road, kick up the loose pavement and concrete
Creating more road blocks for those who come thereafter.
And now here I am, on a crowded highway.
What a difference between our roads.
