I stopped and looked down. “I sleep with my wand under my pillow. Do you know why, Althea?” I looked back up at her.

      She shook her head, not meeting my eyes. 

      “I sleep with it under my pillow because I am PARANOID that something will happen. I am so stressed out because of this whole stupid thing, that I can’t sleep if I don’t have my wand within reach.” 

      “What does this have to do with anything?” She asked. 

      I grabbed her wrists and looked into her eyes. “I’m telling you this because I want to warn you. Once you do this, you can never go back. Do you understand?” She nodded uncomfortably. “It will change you. It changes everyone.”
