How could something so small take up so much space in my heart

With four paws, one tail and a wet nose

A sweet face and adorable bark

This rescue of seven years old

Stole my heart when I met with him

I felt pulled to him like magnet

To a giant piece of metal

He came up to me and just looked like he needed us

Needed a home and parents to keep him safe

So I brought him with me

Much to Anthony’s chagrin

But that impulsiveness made a change

That gave us both a glimmer of hope in our life
