POEM STARTER

A thruth that's told with bad intent

Beats all the lies you can invent.

Use this quote from the poet William Blake in a poem with a defined structure. As this is a rhyming couplet, your stanza format should follow however you use the quote.

You say....

you say it makes you happy

you say it makes you free

you say you are invincible,

strongest thing to be

but a drug is more than happiness

it comes with a fair price

your friends and possible sanity

is a debt that will suffice

you tell everybody you’re fine

you hide behind a mask

but trying to seem fine when you’re not

is such a difficult task.

they told her it was good

they told her it was fine

they told her it would do no harm

they gave no simple sign.

it was a truth nonetheless

a truth fully meant, but

a truth that’s told with bad intent

beats all the lies you can invent
