You would find me just the same

Crying over something else,

and you would comfort me again.

We’d come together flawlessly

We would tell each other all of our secrets,

and judgment would never fall.

In another life,

Our hands would fit just right,

Our legs would tangle seamlessly,

and our breath would be one.

In another life,

Our laughter would continue

The smiles would never stop,

and joy would abound.

In another life,

I would feel the respect

You gave to me the first time we met,

and it would never stop.

In another life,

You could look me in the eyes

Always tell me the truth

and it would only sometimes hurt a little.

In another life,

You would never stray,

You’d provide abundant loyalty

And a plethora of love notes.

In another life,

Your words are always soft

Loving, understanding,

And your hands would be kind, too.

In another life,

You would only wipe my tears

After a sad movie,

And when our cat died.

In another life,

You only say how my body is wonderful

How you appreciate I take care of myself

And only hold me tighter.

In another life,

you tell your friends about me

With enthusiasm, gusto

And they would know my favorite color, too.

In another life,

We would keep all our promises

Make new ones, edit old ones

And forgive each other daily.

In another life,

Our potential would be met,

We would create worlds on end

And astound the gods.

In another life, 

our souls would intertwine,

Our hearts would synchronize, 

and our love would be real.
