POEM STARTER

Submitted by C.C Charlie

Write a poem about someone on their way to face their enemy.

An unusual theme for poetry; see how you can portray rivals and conflict in poetic form.

Under Metal and Steel

Strategically, I move Next to you My friend, my foe Keep your enemies close Deep down, I know your intentions I know your motives I know your past inflictions I know your weaknesses Even though I’m just a kid I will defeat your sicknesses Like the sky for the birds I give you a place to fly I will hold it over your head Until your bones rot dry I will still be here, owning the sky Generation after generation I will own your lives Your barbaric ways will cease to exist Day after day, child after child Nothing ever satisfied you Not even for a while Now I am grown Into a woman, well known I will cut you down with the tip of my tongue Your throat will pour blood Once the jury has heard what you’ve done Your wicked ways will finally be at bay All the restless souls you’ve haunted will finally lay I will see you under metal and steel Never to hurt another child again They know, the men Who you are What you’ve done So they know Who you’ve become They will not be pleasant My army of rats Your blood will fill the room As the eat you alive One by one, showing you what’s it’s like You are now begging to die How does it feel? To be so evil and get what you deserve For me? Oh it’s a glorious day to be heard.
