STORY STARTER

One day, an author wakes up in his own fantasy horror story. Fortunately, he knows exactly how to defeat the horrible entity lurking in this realm. Unfortunately…

The Monster

I took a look at the monster that I had created, and in an instant knew what to do. Dread creeped across me, filling my whole body with that uncomfortable, frozen feeling. I knew what I had to do.

The person standing across from me was just as frozen as I was, albeit not for the same reasons. He was frozen with fear. I had no fear in me, for I knew what I had to do, but was still frozen. Time seemed to come to a standstill.

The monster's mouth stretched unnaturally into a gleaming, toothy smile, its dark, rotting flesh oozing and melting as it slowly creeped towards us. I knew what I had to do as it locked eyes with me, staring into my soul.

The other person also had his eyes fixed on the monster.

I knew what I had to do as I ran towards him as fast as humanly possible.

I knew what I had to do as I reached my hands towards the man.

I knew what I had to do as time moved faster and as I pushed the man into the monster's giant maws.

A sharp tooth stabbed him in the abdomen. His vocal cords still intact, he screamed like an infant wailing for his mother. My eyes and his locked. I knew what I had to do.

The monster retreated. I could still hear his screams, even after he was digested. They rang across my eardrums, bouncing back and forth.

They always will.
