Once Is All It Takes

It is my privilege to be standing in front of you today to receive the John Newbery Medal. I am not one for awards or even the concept that one person should receive accolades for a personal victory. I believe that nothing is ever achieved by one person and that in some way shape or form all successful things in life are part of a collaboration of some sort. Whether it is a kind word or a simple smile, we all have the power to make a difference in someone else’s day or even life. So without adieu, I thank and except this award on behalf of all those who have contributed to the successful outcome of this project. I look forward to working on many more projects with you in the future..
