The Lake

Erin laughed, playfully pushing Ben’s shoulder.

“You mean to tell me you’re scared of a silly old lake?” She grinned at him. “I’ve swam here millions of times! What do you mean you’re scared?”

Ben grimaced. “It’s not just this lake, it’s all bodies of water,”

Erin shook her head and pulled off her tee to reveal a teal bikini underneath. Ben watched as she tied her hair in a high pony. She turned back one time to him, giving him a shrug then ran off the dock into the lake.

SPLASH!

Erin waded around in the water, her teeth chattering.

“I didn’t expect it to be so c-c-c-cold!” She said to Ben. “It’s alright other than that though! Come in!”

Ben shook his head. “I’m fine! Let me get a towel from the shop.” Ben walked up the hill and to the small wooden building near the parking lot.

“Oh SHIT,” He said, slapping his head. “Erin left the car unlocked?! Erin, this is my m-“

His anger was interrupted by a sudden scream from down in the lake.

“What the…” Ben jogged down to his spot on the rocky beach. “FUCK!”
