Six months gone and I’m still reaching

for the best and worst day of June,

the one that I met you

but it turns back to sad

When I fell hard, you took a step back,

Left me dreaming dreams with happy endings.

August slipped away into a moment in time

September saw a month of tears

So much for summer love, and saying, “us,”

But I still don’t know, how did it end?

I recall late November holding my breath

It was months and months of back and forth

Summer went away, still the yearning stays,
