do i need to prove it to you again?

sunny closed her eyes and leaned back in her chair on the roof of the building. “well,” she sighed, “i used to believe i had a soulmate.”

will looked at her, confused. “what do you mean, used to? and how is that ridiculous?”

sunny cocked her head and blew her strawberry-blonde bangs out of her face. “you can’t seriously tell me you believe in all that ‘true love’ bullshit.”

will looked uncomfortable. “well…”

“oh my god. you’re hopeless.”

“i-“ will started to protest. “yes, i do believe that somewhere out there, there’s a person for everyone. except aromantic people, i mean,” he quickly added.

sunny rolled her hazel eyes. “i don’t think there’s a person that could love me. not once they get to know me, who i really am.”

will leaned towards her. “and why not?” he challenged.

she sighed again. she opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off by will. the next thing she knew, he was kissing her. her eyes were wide, but will’s were closed, and she felt him smile against her lips. soon she began to submit to his kiss, realizing she technically didn’t dislike it.

when will finally let off, he sat back in his lawn chair and smirked, satisfied. there was a mischievous glint in his bright green eyes. “how do you feel now?”

sunny was speechless for a moment— which was rare for her— but quickly regained her composure. “i don’t… i still don’t believe someone could love me, but—“

will put a finger to her lips. “do i need to prove it to you again?”
