North, East, South, or West

It must be strange, to be a fish. Swimming in the deep blue sea, not knowing what lies ahead, nor caring what does. Prehaps this is why Leanna enjoyed long walks on the beachโ€” she could go wherever without worrying about where she would end up.

Leannaโ€™s frizzy brown hair stuck to her face due to the salty ocean breeze as she walked further into the deep sand. She closed her eyes for a second to take in the magic which she felt the beach hadโ€” then she tripped and fell.

Her head knocked against something hard and her hand bleed slightly and she tried to catch herself on a sharp object.

Embarrassed, Leanna layed down face first on the sand for a second longer after she had comprehended what had just happened.

Finally, she got up and brushed the sand off her shorts with her barley bleeding hands.

โ€œRight.โ€ Leanna mumbled as she glanced at the faint red stain on her fairly new white shorts.

She looked around the see what had cut her handโ€” a small broken compass.

Leanna carefully picked it up. It had a dark brown frameโ€” which appeared to have once been tanโ€” with bits of shattered glass glued to the edge.

Leanna held up the object to admire the broken treasure, then stuffed it into her pockets.
