This poem can be in any style and with any theme, but try to write in a genre that you wouldn't normally try.
Beloved
As the sun shined down upon the street
Where I sit anxiously waiting to meet
I often wondered if you thought twice about me
Or gave in to the idea my chaos would bring
You’ve wrapped around me on nights I agonized in pain
I think it’s because you’d know I’d do the same
Your soul stretches beyond the body it is contained
You beg to be free mentally from the reigns
I want to break you free from those chains
I treasure the moments so often silent
Because we both know the world is often too loud
There’s too much hurt in life and the world is violent
But with you, the overwhelming feelings become quiet
We may not know what depths the world has for us
But I know my shoulders can carry it without being buried
If you were weary and needed rest
I would ignore the world and grab you to carry
You are the stars to my night
The sun to my day
I want to make you smile more than I might
To let you know, we will always be okay
