The Thin Line Between.

And there he stood, hands in pockets, laid back stance, smirk on his lips and eyes locked on mine.

I glowered.

God, I hated him.

I really, truly hated this man….

I hated his pride, his know-it-all smirk, not-a-care-in-the-world stance and his cold, piercing eyes; eyes that would look right past your own and deep into your soul, stealing secrets you’ve never once told.

_“You good?”_

He spoke in an amused tone, taunting even, as he strode over, stopping behind my chair. I could feel his natural demand for attention without him having to utter a single word, he knew that, but I suppose he enjoyed any opportunity to taunt.

_“Well, normally, the workers tend to have a certain level of fear of their boss.”_

I snapped back, continuing to type.

He leaned down, lips only slightly grazing the tip of my ear as he whispered,

_“You know I could fire you at any point.”_

I smiled, turning to face him.

_“But, you won’t.”_
