Telepathic Tempest
In Liatra‘s Opinion, Nulls and even other mages had a horrible understanding of what it was like to have a telepathic sense as strong as hers. To her Nulls were like little candle flames, not nearly as bright as their arcane peers, but far more readable, the whirls and eddies of their thoughts almost impossible not to pick up on without a careful layering of shields between their minds and hers.
Other mages on the other hand were star like in there brightness, the arcana that flowed through them giving them an extra brilliance often made more diffuse by shields. Few mental barriers were sturdy enough to keep her out however, and even accidental contact if she wasn’t prepared for it could lead to no small amount of awkward knowledge about a person. It was because of this that her own shields were as variable and dynamic as a hurricane. One moment the winds could be gentle, yet just as quickly they could also be spun up into a howling wall of psychic noise, a force capable of both blocking out the thoughts of those less capable and malignant mental energy that would seek to do her harm. Physically and magically she was nothing compared to the force of devastation that was a combat mage, But psychically she could, without a doubt, tangle with the best of them.
This prompt totally made me think of my characters telepathic abilities and how they allow her to sense other minds, so this nonsense was born hooray!
