(As stated, this is an au, some events mentioned happend in the book series Wings of Fire by Tui T Sutherland)

Turtle hid behind the giant suports of the ancient nightwing palace, Darkstalker was greeting the large influx of nightwings from the rainforest kingdom. Sitting in the throne room of the palace was marvelous golden tables with some of the most delicious food Turtle had ever seen, great varieties of drinks.

But all the nightwings seemed fairly disturbed by the fact that a rainwing, one specific nightwing, and seawing, Kinkajou, Moonwatcher, and Anemone, his sister, were amongst them. Even growing up in royalty, Turtle never had seen something so, chaotic. He saw multiple nightwings cornering Kinkajou, probably questioning why she was here; The nightwings and rainwings relationship was still sour even after Queen Glory had agreed to let them stay in the Rainforest afteer the volcanic eruption on their island.

Anemone however, stayed very close to Darkstalker, despite how she tried to hid it, Turtle could tell she was nervous being surrounded by nightwings.

Moonwatcher seemed to blend into the crowd enough not to be bothered, but did manage to clear a path away from the nightwings cornering Kinkajou, for long enough for her to slip out of the corner and slowly maker her way over to where Turtle was, she was crouched low to the ground to try and avoid being spotted by the same nightwings, but soon disappeared. Turtle hoped she had just turned invisible, it was most likely that she had turned invisible because she was very easy to see in the crowd do to the bright yellow and pink colors of her scales.

He hadnt been paying enough attention to realize that Darkstalker had gone to get several baskets of silver accessories that he had enchanted to give the nightwings powers, like he had the previous nights. Threw the windows of the palace, Turtle could see one of the three moons glimmering strongly, a full moon. Once Darkstalker had returned, chaos seemed to break out, it was a frenzy to get to the back of the room where Darkstalker and the baskets were.

He could see that Darkstalker had said something, but it was too loud for Turtle to here exactly what. He was about to sneek back into the hallways of the palace when someone bumped into him, he quickly turned his head, too petrified to turn and run.

But then he saw it was only Kinkajou. The two of them then snuck into the hallways, it being to loud to here anything in the throne room. Kinkajou had asked him if he knew what was going on, she had been asleep the past three days when it had happened. Turtle wanted to answer, but could here talons clickling on the marble flooring from around the corner, him and Kinkajou simultaneously decided to run to where Darkstalker had told Kinkajou she could sleep.

They passed by an old nightwing, who had meerly wished them well and told them to hurry.

That was all Turtle remembered before waking up in Anemone’s room at the Nightwing Palace, Qibli, Winter, Anemone, Kinkajou, and Peril all sitting or laying near where he was, with worried looks on there faces.
