Mother Knows Best
✨not really the prompt, but I’ve been away for a while. ✨
“All’s I’m saying, is I’m sick of it.” Gaia sashayed to the drinks counter, pouring herself a glass of sparkling water. “I mean look at this,” she indicated the glass. “Water is perfect, the most perfect thing in the universe, why does it need to have bubbles in it?” She took a sip, spluttering before spitting it back into the glass, her face twisted in disgust. “For the love of the fates! It tastes like acidic metal! Why is that needed?”
“Oh, you can’t be too harsh, it goes lovely with gin.” Urie grinned from his perch on the daybed, lounging with a glass of blood red wine.
Gaia sighed, “it’s not just that Urie, it’s everything. Life really hasn’t turned out the way I wanted it to be. Take the kids, they lounge around, doing nothing. They leave a trail of mess and destruction wherever they go. They don’t pay rent, or clean up after themselves. They treat me like their maid service, it’s exhausting.” She emptied her glass into the sink, watching it run down the drain before pouring herself some white wine, and joining Urie on the couch.
“You have to be firm, but fair with them. Let them know that you are not going to sustain them if they continue with their behaviour.” He sat up straighter, pulling her into his side, Urie kissed her temple, sharing comfort.
“I’ve tried! I stopped tidying up, and the entire house was a state! It’s like they don’t even see it.” She sobbed into her hands, cupping them around her face. “They’re impossible!”
“Maybe it’s time for some tough love?” Urie questioned, “you know, like kicking them out?”
“Mmm…well…that might have some promise, but how would I get them to leave?” Gaia perked up a little with this new plan forming in her mind. “It would give me time to get the house back in order, and to re-decorate, make things nice again.” Her mind was running away with itself in her excitement.
“The trick is, to make it seem like it’s their choice. To make it impossible for them to keep sponging off you.” He whispered into her ear, eliciting a girlish giggle.
“They do take everything that I have to offer, and never give anything back.” She mused.
“So, cut them off. Pretend that you have nothing left to give, hide it all away. Then they will leave of their own accord.” Urie started to kiss her neck lightly, teasing her flesh.
Gaia leaned into his affections, twisting her head to the side for better access. “I could say that I’m ill, turn up the heat to an unbearable degree, force them to take care of me?” She quizzed her partner.
“Or you can shut the heat off, leave all the windows open, maybe even a well timed flood?” He tilted her face towards him, enveloping her mouth with his, kissing her deeply.
Breathlessly she gazed into his eyes, they shone with starlight, and wisdom. “I could do that. Make the ungrateful brats work of every grain of food, and sip of water.” She nibbled at his stubble clad jaw, her lips finding the soft skin of his earlobe, sucking it into her mouth.
He moan low in his throat, reclining into the couch, pulling her on top of him. “You know what to do.” He assured her, pulling down the strap of her dress.
“Yes,” she hissed into his ear. “Mother knows best.” Her moss green eyes twinkled with dew, as she sank into him.

This address came on the back of a hurricane that hit Texas earlier this week, causing widespread chaos throughout the state.
“Remind me never to piss you off.” Urie sighed, holding Gaia close.
“I’m just doing what any good parent would do.” She smirked, burrowing herself into his side. “That will teach them to disrespect their Mother Earth.
