"Everything will be fine, sweetheart," Dad said in his usual calm tone.

"17 is not old enough to be trained as an assassin. She needs protection, not training!" Shouted Mum, her voice unwavering.

I groaned in the corner, but it really wasn't such a big deal that Master Chang trained me. It's just Mum overthinking again. It's for my safety, for me.

"It's my life, and I get to make the decisions!" I declared, my voice echoing through the room. "Don't you dare say otherwise. I know the rule that children can't be trained as assassins, but I'm not a child anymore!"

"I... I guess it's fine, cupcake," sighed Mum, giving in.
