Touching You

I need you in my life,

I need you in my sleep,

When I’m scared and worried,

I need you to brush my hair

While I’m in your lap,

We talk about my day,

I look up at you with glee,

You look down and play with my hair

Your hands are of grave importance,

When I’m alone I miss them,

The warmth, the pulse, the reassurance,

I miss you running fingers through my hair

I didn’t think hands were special,

When we embrace I hold on,

Longer than I should but I need it,

I had missed the smell of your hair
