Forgotten
“Hi my name is Gabriella Lee and I will be auditioning for the part of Tracey”, I exhale.
This was it. My whole broadway carrier depended on this one audition.
“Ok, you can start when you’re ready”, the casting director replied with a genuine smile.
I stare into the endless rows of empty red chairs. I was only a tiny dot on the stage.
“Ahem”, I mumble sounding a lot less confident then attended.
I have been waiting for this moment my whole life. Not only am I perfect for this part, I have spent sleepless hours preparing.
My nicest dress glistened under the blinding stage lights as I take a step forward.
I’m ready to start my lines.
My lines.
I freeze and look the casting director straight in the eyes. A wave of anxiety arose in my stomach and I felt my cheeks going red.
I knew each line of by heart, what was happening?
Why am I not speaking?
I shuffle my feet together and stand there speechless.
“Next!”, the casting director calls.
I blew it.
