POEM STARTER
Don’t let yourself float away to the moon, or you’ll miss the flowers under your feet that bloom.
Write a poem which incorporates this line.
In My Imagination
The world can be many things
Cruel.
Dead.
Sad.
So sometimes I resort to the world in my head
It’s full of life and warmth
You can touch the stars, sit on the moon
Dance in the sparkling rain or sleep in a field of flowers gold
Just don’t go to far or you’ll miss the flowers beneath you that bloom.
But I like to forget the world
Until I notice what I miss
The birds singing and soaring
My skin being touched by the sun’s kiss
The leaves colors shifting
Green, orange, yellow, brown
The snow on limbs like a sparkling crown
It’s nice to leave the world and visit mine up in the sky
But it’s easy to lose sight
So I cherish the small intricacies of life
So that when I believe the world is dull I can be reminded of what makes it bright
