POEM STARTER

Forgiveness

Write a poem forgiving someone who hurt you or your character.

Veins.

Your name used to spike my tongue,

But it seems the points have dulled now,

Your words hit like an earthquake,

My recollection is the final aftershock,

The puddles of tears began to dry,

And that was when I realized it all,

I _suppose_ you are correct,

I _suppose_ I am in the wrong,

Regardless, I wish to bond once again,

Despite our thoughts, let’s make amends,

Let’s push our combative beliefs away,

They tear our emotions to shreds,

They crushed our relationship into shards,

But we can recycle those pieces into something new,

We can let the clouds clear,

Let our yells and hate fade into nothingness,

I have thought about it night and day,

The sun and moon helping me through the ache,

And I wrote this poem to tell you,

Forgiveness runs in my veins.
