Deity’s
The invitation came as a shock to me. A simple, plain envelope with my name etched in elegant cursive on the front. The sender's name was written in bold, black letters, and it read: Hades, God of the Underworld.
My heart skipped a beat as I tore open the envelope, wondering what the Lord of the Underworld could possibly want from me. I had never been one to dabble in the supernatural, and I certainly didn't know any powerful deities.
As I read the invitation, my mind raced with possibilities. Was this some kind of prank? Or perhaps a mistake? But as I read the words written in gold ink, I knew it was real.
'Dear Heather,
You are cordially invited to the Underworld for a chat with me, Hades. I have been observing your actions in the mortal realm and I am intrigued by your courage and determination. I would like to have a conversation with you about the future and your role in it.
Please do not be afraid, for I have no intentions of harming you. Consider this as a friendly invitation from one deity to another.
Sincerely,
Hades'
I couldn't believe what I was reading. Hades, one of the most feared and powerful gods, wanted to talk to me? It was a surreal feeling, but I couldn't resist the opportunity. I knew I had to accept the invitation.
The next day, I found myself standing at the entrance of the Underworld. The gates were massive, made of black iron and adorned with skulls and bones. As I approached, the gates creaked open, inviting me inside.
I stepped into the realm of the dead, my heart pounding with nerves and excitement. The landscape was dark and eerie, with a red hue cast over everything. I could see souls wandering in the distance, and I couldn't help but shiver at the thought of being in a place where death was the norm.
But I pressed on, following the instructions on the invitation that led me to a grand palace at the center of the Underworld. As I entered, I was greeted by a tall, imposing figure - Hades himself.
He was unlike any depiction I had seen of him before. He was not a menacing figure with a dark cape and a scowl, but a handsome and regal god with a calm expression on his face. He welcomed me with a warm smile and gestured for me to take a seat in front of him.
'Thank you for accepting my invitation,' Hades said, his voice deep and commanding.
'I couldn't say no to an invitation from the god of the Underworld,' I replied, trying to hide my nerves.
Hades chuckled, 'I assure you, I am not as frightening as mortals make me out to be.'
We chatted for what seemed like hours, discussing everything from the mortal realm to the afterlife. Hades was surprisingly knowledgeable about the current world, and we had a lot in common. I found myself opening up to him, telling him about my fears and aspirations.
As our conversation came to an end, Hades offered me a deal. He wanted me to become his messenger to the mortal realm, to bridge the gap between the two worlds and spread his message of balance and harmony.
I was hesitant at first, but Hades promised to guide and protect me in my new role. I couldn't refuse such an offer, and I accepted without hesitation.
From that day on, I became the messenger of Hades, traveling between the mortal realm and the Underworld, spreading his message and helping lost souls find their way. And with each visit, I gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for the god of the Underworld, who was not the fearsome ruler I once believed him to be, but a kind and wise deity with a heart of gold.
