POEM STARTER
‘The flood flowed cold with inky blood
and yet the wet sky blinked with stars in deep slumber’
Write a poem with internal rhymes, ending with this line. Internal rhyme, in this case, is where words within the same line rhyme with each other.
Sleeping Stars
The flood flowed cold
With inky blood
And yet the wet sky blinked
With the starts in deep slumber
For nothing could dull their light
Or hush their internal thunder
Tearing the sky in two
One for me
One for you
For we can’t exist in the same timeline
Star crossed lovers
Never the right place
Or time
If only the flood
Swept away the thoughts of you
If only my blood
Was ever enough to pull you through
Would my every last grain of my soul
Ever be enough for you
