POEM STARTER
Write a poem about geese flying south for the winter.
Could their migration be a metaphor for something?
Home, Mama
Oh mama, where could you be?
The group of geese honk and plea
The life they owned was getting cold and bear
Now alone, they travel to who knows where
Oh mama, where is home?
The home you grew and raised us
It seemed to be flooding with cold by the day
And now we stray, clueless when you’re away
Oh mama, where are we going?
Why did we leave you at home?
The air is getting warmer, warm by the second
So why aren’t you tucking us near?
Why aren’t you next to us, whispering soft lullabies in our ear?
Sparking water catches our eye, and we land head a barn perched on the mountainside
Oh mama, you would love it here
Soon we’ll fly back home, then do the same next year
