Mark rubbed his eyes,looking back to his watch,pursing his lips as he made a valiant effort to read the numbers as they swam. Taking a good minute to decipher the code that was his watch,he sighed in the recognition that he still has a whole hour (really it was just 53 minutes,but Mark was always one for theatrics) left of his shift.
Looking back at his monitor,he gasped as a sound like white noise met his sensitive ears,and he checked the unauthorised transmission. It was from-no. He did a double-take. It couldn’t be.
It was from Mars.
The transmitter was branded as #278940-Jack,but it couldn’t have been right.
Jack,Mark’s previous partner in crime who was a pioneer of space travel to Mars,and he was the single man who went on a voyage to Mars in June of 2049. It was all going smoothly,he landed and followed basic procedures,but then,his transmitter that linked to Mark’s headset cut off. He couldn’t even get through to him in any way.
So,he was deemed dead.
But this...this was impossible
