I was lost and panicking. Where was my building? I’ve wandered back and forth and checked the street signs. Am I in a dream or coma? I slapped my face with both hands hard.

“Ouch…”

_What the heck._

I gave up on keeping my phone clean and decided to grab it from my pocket to check Google Maps.

Maybe I wandered off to a similar looking area.

But after searching, there was no building with the same name in the area. The major intersection was correct though.

_Shit, what is happening? Am I really in a coma where I can feel imagined pain? Or maybe I moved in my sleep and slapped myself._

If I’m in a blanket, there’s no way I can reach my toes unless I sit up or move into a difficult position. I slipped off a running shoe and pinched the side of my foot.

“Oh my god.”

_I could feel this pain too. What the heck was going on?_

The next thing I thought about was self-comforting.__

_Maybe I’m not the only one experiencing this strange thing. Maybe there’s something in the air or the food I ate that’s making me hallucinate. I should get to a safe public space and sit it out._

After sitting for two hours and finishing all my water, I realized my folly during a Googling session. This was not the same dimension.

Just in case, I chatted with people and asked them some simple questions with the excuse being that I hit my head and was worried that my memory was affected.

My mind felt too clear to be hallucinating and my building didn’t appear on satellite imaging either.

_Screw it. If I can’t find a way back home, I’ll enjoy it here as my second life._
