No dialogue / Draft

The road flew by under our wheels as we drove, the ocean to our left. Wind whipped through open windows, tousling my brown curls. He turned up the radio before reaching for my hand. I could’t help but smile. I rubbed my thumb back and forth to let him know I approved. He returned that with a gentle squeeze of my hand and a beautiful smile of his own.


We pulled up onto the sand as the sun sunk lower in the sky. He put the car in park and killed the engine. Before I could say anything, he hopped out and grabbed something from the back. When I noticed it was a picnic basket, he winked and waved me out of the car.


He pulled a blanket out from the basket, covering a square of sand with it, followed by two small bottles and a box containing various fruits with small tub of chocolate. He pulled me next to him. We sat and watched as the sun dipped below the waves.


It was perfect.


He was perfect.
