Over the Rainbow
I remember a land that i stumbled upon in a dream. It is only accessible between 3:00 to 3:30 am. It is a land of lavender covered hills, and ethereal beauty. Some could even call it Elysian. the rolling hills are covered in splatters and splotches of flowers i’ve never even heard of and that smell oddly familiar… with a stale, iron like tang. I’ve been to this land many times, and since then i’ve learned three things.
1: Don’t drink the tea. Whatever you do, if someone or something offers you tea or snacks do not except.
2: If you see a dark figure, ignore it. Don’t even look at it. If it begins to follow you, run. Run until you see the tree with the purple apple. That’s the only place that’s safe from the creature.
3: stay on the path. Don’t go inside any houses, or sit off the road. I can’t say this enough. Stay. On. The path.
If you’re ready to leave before the time is up, then all you have to do is pick the lavender and gift it to a creature. But be careful. They might see it as a threat, or an insult, and attack.
Lastly, it’s important to remember, time is funny in this magical land. Minutes feel like days, and seconds feel like hours so it’s easy to lose track of time. Just be warned, if you don’t leave in time, you’ll turn into one of them, one of us…warning off the innocent ones with an iron smell. Only to realize too late why the smell was familiar… as your blood covers the flowers you accept your fate and become one of them. “ We tried to warn you. but you didn’t listen… so now you’re here as one of us…” they whisper into your ears before it all fades to black.
