Spurned Love

Being on stage, an actress’ dream

She spurned a suitor’s advances

In his mind he came up with a scheme.

Make her love him, receive all the glory,

Or slay her though it be rather gory.

He waited outside, the door to backstage

She would not see him, not now not tomorrow

His anger towards her started to rage.

He bought a gun, knew it would be fast

For her life would be over, and be over quite fast.

In the crowd the actress saw a man and later they met

on him her heart was now set.

One night at curtain call Her thoughts drifted to him her heart flew on, but with a gun blast and with a final bow, the thought was gone.
