The world seems still.

As if time hasn’t moved.

At least that’s how it feels.

Or maybe I’ve just lost my groove..

Even though the world seems still,

Time keeps passing and it’s passing me by.

Two weeks turns to years with just the blink of an eye.

I’ve been struggling to write.

I pick up the pen everyday,

But it’s like I can’t get it right.

Maybe I’m not holding it right and that’s why I can’t find the words.

So many poems in my mind that my poet hasn’t heard.

But when it’s time to write they just haven’t come together.

I’ve been in a state of hibernation for too long.

I’m uncertain if this storm I can weather.

I’m shaking off the sleep.

The pen is in my hand.

I’m letting the words flow.

I had forgotten who was in command.

I’m back and I’m better.

This time I won’t slip away.

When my pen touched the paper,

My soul reawakened today.
