POEM STARTER
Write a poem about where you would like to be in ten years time.
Speculative poetry is popular, and allows exploration of things that aren't yet real. You don't have to write from your own perspective; you could get into the mindset of a character.
Ten Years From Now
I haven’t grown too known to walk convention floors -
My face rings little bells, if any bells
It’s how I like it
Through the dealer’s hall, and panels large and small
Enjoying as the fan I always am -
And then I see them
A group of five, in homemade clothes
Adventurers’ garb, from a fantasy scene
I see them
And I know them
These five I put to pen, and brought to life
Now brought to life in turn by crafty fans
Who loved this story - as I have loved stories -
Those stories which inspired me to write, and make, and play -
Now mine in turn is cosplayed by my fans
