Staring At The Sun
Under the cloak of candle light they met. The first touch of each others hands was like lightning lighting up their hearts. Moments to revel in filled each day.
Day by day, life flew by, until their day. White dresses, red roses, gold bands, and the sweet sound of music floated him down the isle. He looked at his grooms smile, white teeth, black suit, perfect hair.
Meant to be, he said everyday. When he woke up next to his husband, meant to be, was what he always said.
Every apology held those words, I’m sorry. Remember, we were meant to be.
Chocolate candies just for fun and roses just because filled his year. All this love just for me, he thought.
Even when the clouds turned grey and began to cry his world away. Blinded by the sun, he stayed.
