Modern Day Elmer Fudd
What did you do?
I often wonder what I did
to end up right here, right now—
with galvanized fences
and old brick buildings
whose knocked in windows
go untouched, like they never mattered.
What did you do?
I don’t know, but I must’ve
ticked off a couple of angels
because the last time anyone
saved me, it was as a number
in their phone. They don’t even call it—
it’s just there under their
Good Samaritan license.
What did you do?
I might have done a few things
but no cop ever took note,
then again, I have more brain cells
than those nimrods who reinact
Beavis and Butthead, but who knows.
I might just be a modern day Elmer Fudd.
