Cardboard Coffin

I hear your laugh in the wind, I see your smile in the waves you couldn't swim... People get close But never closer than you. People are funny, But they're jokes never do. Where did you go? You fell off the face of the earth, Is that all we were worth? Severed ties, no 'Goodbyes'... Maybe it was for the best, Despite this ache in my chest. Have you changed at all? Probably still small. Do you look any older? The warmth where you once were gets colder and colder... I'll bury this cardboard box full of memories, Like a coffin in the ground, And who knows, Sometimes what is lost, Can be found.
